An Independence Day ceremony was organized at the Ratmalana Paramadhamma Chethiya Pirivena Temple to mark the 78th National Independence Day. The Independence Day ceremony was organized under the chief patronage of the Chief Incumbent of the Paramadhamma Chethiya Maha Pirivena Temple, Venerable Maitipe Wimalasara Thera. The Independence Day ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Samanmali Gunasinghe, Ratmalana Divisional Secretary M.M.K. Dilrukshi Walpola, the Superintendent of Police, and a large number of dignitaries, including government officials, representatives of the political establishment, and representatives of various religions, artists, Dhamma school children, and residents of the region.

The Thai Pongal festival organized by the Ratmalana Divisional Secretariat was held on 21/01/2026. Along with cooking Pongal rice according to Hindu traditions, a program to appreciate the creation of kolam patterns among the office officials and a short cultural event were also held. This program was conducted under the full supervision of Ratmalana Divisional Secretary Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, Assistant Divisional Secretary Mrs. Prabha Sri Madhurangi, and Accountant Mrs. Shanika Fernando.

The Regional Literary Competition Prizes and Certificates Presentation Ceremony was held on 12/12/2025 at the Ratmalana Divisional Secretariat Auditorium under the patronage of the Chairperson of the Ratmalana Regional Coordination Committee, Member of Parliament, Mrs. Samanmali Gunasinghe, with the participation of the Ratmalana Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, and the Ratmalana Assistant Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Prabha Sri Madurangi, along with the Divisional Secretariat staff. A large number of people including the Chairman of the Ratmalana Cultural Council, Professor Kamal Walegoda, members of the Council, winning children, artists, parents, etc. also participated in this event...
