The Japanese Foreign Employment Promotion Program organized by the Ratmalana Divisional Secretariat on the instructions of the Colombo District Secretariat was held at the Lalith Athulathmudali Vocational Training Institute, Ratmalana on 2026-03-07 at 11.00 a.m. This program was organized under the guidance of the Ratmalana Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, and the program was conducted by Dr. Priyantha Perera. This program was organized under the supervision of the Administrative Grama Niladhari of the Ratmalana Divisional Secretariat, Mrs. S.M.S. Deepthi. This program was held with the participation of about 150 beneficiaries including Youth Services Officer, Mr. Hemachandra, Foreign Employment Development Officer, Mrs. Chandimala, Skill Development Officer, Mr. Weerasinghe.

The Ratmalana Divisional Coordination Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, 25.02.2026 at 9.00 am at the Ratmalana Divisional Secretariat Auditorium with the participation of Member of Parliament Samanmali Gunasinghe, Ratmalana Divisional Secretary M.M.K. Dilrukshi Walpola and various government officials representing various government institutions. At the meeting, the health and security situation in the Ratmalana area, the progress of projects implemented in the division, as well as many existing problems in the area were discussed and necessary future actions and decisions were taken.

Ratama Ekata National Operations Council has decided to declare the week commencing 01st of
March 2026 as "Illicit Drug Prevention Week." marking the commencement of continuous
